Who Am I?
I have been programming in ASP.NET for a short time (since 2006), but I have been involved in programming since the late-1990s. I was asked to convert from PHP/MySQL to ASP.NET/MSSQL by my employer, and I have become a linguist of both languages ever since. I am continually reading new material on SQL and .NET programming, so I decided to create a .NET blog to contribute back to the community that has helped me grow as a developer. Once I realized how important design is to .NET development, I decided to include aspects of web design into my niche.
The Target Audience
The content of this blog is focused towards young, professional ASP.NET developers that are fairly new (but not completely naive) to the language. ASP.NET is a difficult language for younger developers because it isn’t nearly as popular as other open-source options (PHP, Python, Perl, etc.), but it is heavily used in the corporate world. Because ASP.NET is so widely used in the business world, it makes it an excellent language for younger developers, who are used to traditional, open-source languages, to attain a higher demand. Tangentially, this blog is also pertinent to any SQL database administrator and web designer due to content overlap with ASP.NET.
The Next Step
I would highly encourage you to stay connected with this blog through an RSS feed or e-mail subscription. I have found that one of the best ways to keep sharp with ASP.NET and web development is to continually read new material and learn from other developers. If you have any feedback, feel free to contact me or leave a comment on a blog post.
